چکیده

The present paper generalizes the analysis [18, 2] of the correlations for a lattice system of real-valued spins at low temperature. The Gibbs measure is assumed to be generated by a fairly general pair potential (Hamiltonian function). The novelty, as compared to [18, 2], is that the single-site (self-) energies of the spins are not required to have only a single local minimum and no other extrema. Our derivation of exponential decay of correlations goes through the spectral analysis of a deformed Laplacian closely related to the Witten Laplacian studied in [18, 2]. We prove that this Laplacian has a spectral gap above zero and argue that this implies exponential decay of the correlations. MSC: 82B05, 81Q20.

The emptiness formation probability correlation in homogeneous and dimerized XX chains

We review some known properties of the “emptiness formation probability” correlation which we have calculated numerically for spin-1/2 XX chains with constant (homogeneous) or alternating (dimerized) nearestneighbor coupling and an external field (in z direction) for arbitrary temperature. The long-distance asymptotic behavior of this correlation is known to be Gaussian at zero temperature and ...

Relaxation at finite temperature in Fully-Frustrated Ising Models

We consider by means of Monte Carlo simulations the relaxation in the paramagnetic phase of the anti-ferromagnetic Ising model on a triangular lattice and of a fully-frustrated Ising model on a square lattice. In contradistinction to previous studies of the second model, we show that spin-spin correlation functions do not decay with a stretched-exponential law at low temperature but that both m...

Time and temperature dependent correlation functions of the 1D impenetrable electron gas

We consider the one-dimensional delta-interacting electron gas in the case of infinite repulsion. We use determinant representations to study the long time, large distance asymptotics of correlation functions of local fields in the gas phase. We derive differential equations which drive the correlation functions. Using a related Riemann-Hilbert problem we obtain formulae for the asymptotics of ...

Ultrafast vibrational dynamics and stability of deuterated amorphous silicon.

Infrared four-wave mixing experiments performed upon deuterated amorphous silicon layers (a-Si:D) reveal profound differences in the dynamics of Si-D stretch vibrations compared to those of analogous Si-H vibrational modes in hydrogenated amorphous silicon (a-Si:H). Remarkably, transient-grating measurements of the population decay rate of the Si-D vibrations show single-exponential decay direc...

We consider non-relativistic electrons in one dimension with infinitely strong repulsive delta function interaction. We calculate the long-time, large-distance asymptotics of field-field correlators in the gas phase. The gas phase at low temperatures is characterized by the ideal gas law. We calculate the exponential decay, the power law corrections and the constant factor of the asymptotics. O...
